Weddings and Celebrations at The Parkside Hotel,
Pontefract
Congratulations on your forthcoming wedding ~ we
look forward to helping you to make your day a truly
memorable occasion.
You'll find the The Parkside Hotel offers classic surroundings for your special day, catering
for up to 250 guests.
Our experienced Wedding and Event Managers have an
eye for detail and a great deal of experience which
means that once all the hard work of planning the
day is done, you can relax and enjoy yourselves safe
in the knowledge that we have thought of everything.
Civil
Weddings
Why not hold your Wedding Ceremony at the The Parkside Hotel?
Wakefield MDC has granted approval for the
hotel to be used for the Soleminsation of Marriages
in pursuance of section 26(1) (bb) of the Marriage
Act 1949.
We have one suite available for Civil Wedding
Ceremonies that can accommodate up to 100 guests.
Included in all the ceremony suites is a floral
arrangement, which we would be happy to co-ordinate
with your chosen colour scheme.
Although the wedding ceremony is at the hotel, you
will also need to work closely with the local
registrar in arranging your day:
- As soon as provisional
arrangements have been made, you should notify the
Superintendent Registrar at Pontefract Registry Office. A
fee for the Registrar's attendance will be payable
by you prior to the ceremony direct to the
Registrar.
- You will also have to give
notice of marriage to the Superintendent Registrar
of the District in which you live. This notice must
be given in person by one of the couple.
- The Superintendent Registrar can
only permit a civil, non-religious ceremony. Any
music, readings or performances, which form any part
of the ceremony, must be secular (non-religious).
The content of the ceremony must be agreed in
advance with the Superintendent Registrar who will
be attending the ceremony.
Thinking of renewing
your Marriage Vows?
This is a very personal ceremony for any couple
wishing to celebrate their marriage. It might be to
celebrate a special anniversary, or an event for
family and friends following a marriage abroad.
You will need to contact your local registrar who
will advise on this service and the fees involved or
visit www.wakefield.gov.uk/registrars to find out more.
First Step
The hotel has a range of private rooms that can
accommodate these services - please call the
Weddings and Event Manager on 01977 709911 to find out more or click here email the team/request a
brochure.
